My name is Jeffrey Kong and I’m a brick artist from Singapore.

I create art with building bricks.

I think the building brick is a very powerful art medium,

That anybody young or old can use to express themselves to tell their own story.

I like to think of myself as a baker.

The Lego brand is just a brand of flour that I use to bake my cakes.

The local scene is pretty small.

We do work together especially for bigger projects.

I also like to hang out with artists who work in other mediums like for example in wood or graphic artist because there is so much I can learn from them.

I’m still discovering new ways of building new things, new ideas every day.

If I can a put a smile on their faces, I would say I’ve succeeded.

I believe an artist has a responsibility to showcase their work and inspire people.

If not why call yourself an artist?

One thing I’ve always wanted to build for myself is actually a little casket, a cool little coffin.

My dream coffin for myself.

I know this may sound a little bit morbid and I think death shouldn’t be such a taboo subject.

Maybe I can put my ashes in it?

That would make me very happy.

Since this is Chinese New Year, I’ve prepare something special for you.

So I thought it would be cool to have a little lion dance and it’s supposed to bring you good luck and happiness for the rest of the year.
